Scoping review of grey (non-academic) literature on diverse intervention programs for perpetrators of domestic and family violence in the Indo-Pacific region

This project is a follow-up to a previously published scoping review (In press) examining peer-reviewed research on programs for perpetrators of domestic and family violence in the Indo-Pacific region. In response to practitioner feedback highlighting the limitations of relying solely on academic literature, particularly the exclusion of valuable unpublished and practice-based work, this review expands the scope to include grey (non-academic) literature.

The purpose of this project is to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the range and diversity of existing interventions in the Indo-Pacific region by incorporating sources that capture real-world practice. This includes documents that report on the evaluation, implementation, and/or delivery of intervention programs, as well as conceptual discussions of interventions applied in practice.

We are seeking grey literature on interventions that:

aim to address adult men’s use of violence within domestic and family violence contexts, including programs where the violence is perpetrated against women, men, and/or gender-diverse people;
are carried out in an Indo-Pacific country.

The review will include a broad range of grey literature sources, such as government and policy documents, organisational and program reports, unpublished evaluation studies, unpublished theses and dissertations, and other practice-based or community-produced documents that are not typically published in academic journals (e.g., practice guides, models or write-ups of programs or interventions).

By broadening the evidence base beyond peer-reviewed publications, this project aims to better reflect the knowledge, innovation, and experiences emerging from practice settings, and to support more inclusive and contextually relevant insights for policy, research, and practice.
