Edwina has over 30 years of experience working regionally and internationally as an expert in sexual and gender-based violence with a key focus on health (in particular sexual and reproductive health, including HIV), law and justice and public policy. She began her career in research, advocacy and capacity development with the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre (FWCC). During her time at FWCC, she held the position of Deputy Coordinator for 13 years and simultaneously served as Project Manager of the Vanuatu Women’s Centre. She moved to PNG to join the Australian Government-funded Law and Justice Program as a Family and Sexual Violence Adviser. During her time in PNG, she also worked for DT-Global and served as the team leader for the Law and Justice Program.

Edwina has worked with various governments, intergovernmental bodies, and civil society organisations globally. She has served on various groups and committees and was a member of the Commonwealth Expert Group to Combat Trafficking, UN Expert Group on Violence Against Indigenous Women, the UN Expert Group on the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Girls, and contributed as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the kNowVAWdata Project supported by UNFPA.
