Lotus Rana

Research and Ethics Training Program Coordinator

Lotus is a Norfolk Islander of Hitiaurevareva/Pitcairn Island descent and Indian. She is a settler living, working, and studying on Dharug Ngurra. Lotus works as the Research and Ethics Training Program Coordinator and is based at the Macquarie University Node on Wallumattagal Campus.

They bring experience working in widening participation and diversity, equity, and inclusion in the higher education sector.

Lotus holds a Bachelor of Marketing and Media from Macquarie University and a Graduate Certificate in Human and Community Services from The University of Sydney. Currently, she is a Master of Research Candidate in the Department of Critical Indigenous Studies, Macquarie University. Their research primarily draws from Indigenous scholars and knowledges around the globe to unpack the present-day implications of colonial stories. She also has a keen interest in research ethics and the ethics of research.

Lotus is passionate about creating spaces that centre people, especially those who are marginalised, not institutions.
