Samantha O’Donnell

Research Fellow

Samantha (she/her) is a Research Fellow with CEVAW and a PhD Candidate in Criminology at the University of Melbourne.

She is an interdisciplinary feminist researcher and qualified lawyer, with expertise researching in the areas of gender-based violence, migration, and criminal justice. Her PhD research examines precarious migration status, family violence, and Australian immigration law and policy. She previously obtained an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the Australian National University. Samantha’s approach to research is informed by her experience practising as a lawyer across the government and community legal sectors.
