Associate Professor Uswatun Qoyyimah is a distinguished scholar and educational leader whose work in the Sociology of Education centres on critical pedagogy, teacher professionalism, and gender equality. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and research grants from both the Indonesian and Australian governments, recognising her influential research on teacher identity, educational policy, and psychological violence in Indonesian schools, particularly against female students. In her role as Vice Rector at a leading Indonesian university, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing educational reform. Professor Qoyyimah regularly organises seminars and short courses to empower teachers, educators, and community leaders in creating more inclusive and equitable learning environments. Through her gender equality workshops, she actively challenges discrimination and advocates for systemic change in schools and broader society.
