📣OPEN CALL: Join the Expert Roundtable on Violence against Indigenous Women and Girls

In honour of this year’s International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, United Nations Population Fund and Centre of Excellence on Violence Against Women (CEVAW) are launching an open call to spotlight the power of Indigenous leadership in ending violence against women and girls.

Are you working to address violence against Indigenous women and girls?

Is your work rooted in lived experience or community-led response?

Are you driving Indigenous-led research or advocacy for justice and prevention?

In partnership with UNFPA, we are hosting a series of Global Online Expert Roundtables to share knowledge, strengthen solidarity, and confront the structural and systemic drivers of gender-based violence against Indigenous women and girls.

The first roundtable will focus on femicide against Indigenous women and girls. This platform will connect participants from across regions, amplify Indigenous voices, and co-create justice, prevention, and data approaches grounded in Indigenous leadership, feminist decolonial frameworks, and the lived experiences of victims’ families.

Who should apply?

We welcome applications from individuals and organizations, especially the following:

🌟Indigenous women leaders and movements confronting femicide;

🌟Families of victims of femicide and survivors of gender-based violence;

🌟Researchers and data activists using feminist and decolonial methods;

🌟Members of community-led organizations, particularly those excluded from global policy spaces;

🌟Community-based service providers;

🌟Traditional knowledge holders;

🌟Representatives of human rights bodies, civil society, feminist networks, or relevant institutions working to end gender-based violence against Indigenous women and girls.

We prioritize:

✅Participants grounded in lived or community-based experience;

✅Those working at the community-level, particularly individuals and groups historically excluded from global policy conversations;

✅A diversity of perspectives and forms of knowledge.

Together, we aim to create a safe space for amplifying voices, fostering solidarity and advancing transformative action.
