CEVAW leads a range of collaborative initiatives that drive forward research, advocacy and action to address conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) and other forms of gendered harm. This page features our current and emerging projects, alongside opportunities for engagement, input and partnership.

Prioritising Intersectoral Practice: Strategies and Innovations (The PIPSI Project)
The PIPSI Project is a three-year action research initiative led by the Violence against Women and Children research team at the University of Melbourne, in partnership with the Centre for Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW).
Feminist Inquiry into Violence against Sex Workers
In 2024, the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women invited civil society inputs for a report on the nexus between prostitution and violence against women. More than 3,600 sex workers and allies responded – not with submissions, but with a petition challenging the very premise of the call.
Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV) in the Indo-Pacific
Following the Justice Denied conference, we are establishing an international network dedicated to ending CRSV, with future events planned to advance research, amplify survivor voices, and accelerate the implementation of the Statement of Action. This initiative will also serve as a mechanism for tracking progress and holding stakeholders accountable.
