Dr Katie Buchhorn is the Data Scientist at the Monash University node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW). Katie completed her PhD at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), specialising in Bayesian statistics and machine learning.
Jessica Gardner is the Technical Lead for Violence Against Women Data and Research at the UNFPA Asia and the Pacific Regional Office. With a 20-year career in gender and social inclusion statistics, she leads the kNOwVAWdata initiative in Asia-Pacific to strengthen national and regional capacity for survivor-centered data collection. Jessica specializes in the safe and ethical measurement of violence against women. She partners with governments, civil society, and international bodies to advance population-based survey methodologies and VAW data ecosystems, while championing data literacy and the effective use of statistics.
Professor Jane Fisher is the Finkel Professor of Global Health in the Monash University School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine and a Chief Investigator of the Australian Research Council Centre for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Jane has longstanding interests in gender-based risks, including violence for women’s reproductive health and mental health across the life course and how these can be addressed in policy, practice, programs, and health promotion.
Professor Astghik Mavisakalyan is a Professor of Economics at the Curtin Centre for Applied Ethics at Curtin University and a Chief Investigator and Curtin University Node lead of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW). Astghik’s current research mostly focuses in areas of gender, violence, crime, health, wellbeing and institutions.
Professor Jacqui True is a Distinguished Professor of International Relations and Director of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence against Women (CEVAW). She is a Global Fellow, Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO) and received an honorary doctorate from Lund University Sweden in 2018. Her research focuses on gendered political violence, feminist political economy and the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
