Masterclass: International Humanitarian Aid in a “Time of Monsters”? Lessons from practitioners working in protection efforts globally

  • HDR/ECRs enrolled students only
  • This masterclass will bring together practitioners working on gender-based violence prevention, emergency response, and protection programmes worldwide, North and South. Each is currently grappling with the turmoil of agency re-prioritization in a changing global governance context, all the while hearing calls for the urgent re-imagining of aid infrastructure and delivery methods. Drawing from experience in women’s and children’s rights advocacy, practice orientated research and at times as privileged voices visiting experts will explore how and why scholarly work matters for transformative interventions in contexts of displacement, climate change, poverty, and other heightened protection needs.
  • Tutors: Anthony Nolan, Jeremy Shusterman, Carol Angir, Nishadh Rego, Elayn Sammon, Masumi Yamashina. Chair: Michelle Godwin
  • 20 ECR researchers, by application
