Rohingya Research Working Group Meeting #2

Based at the CEVAW-ANU and the ANU Myanmar Research Centre, The Rohingya Research Working Group (RRWG) engages around 70 scholars, coordinated by CEVAW Research Fellow Dr Zoe Bell, with Professors Bina D’Costa and Nick Cheesman. The group meets every 2 months.

The network is committed to an inclusive and supportive research environment that contributes to the betterment of the Rohingya community globally and other stateless, displaced, and persecuted groups. Initial meetings are setting the group for multi-disciplinary, intergenerational research collaborations moving forward, including an upcoming Special Issue in the pipeline.

The next meeting (#2) agenda is being built and will likely include collaborative work on the Mission Statement, and presentations from CEVAW Affiliates Rekas Fatima and Sajeda Bahadurmia (co-chairs) Australian Rohingya Women’s Development Organisation (ARWDO) Valentina Grillo (University of Vienna) will also present research on maternal health/ childbirth in camps in Bangladesh.
