Alumita Lekenaua

HDR candidate

Alumita is a PhD candidate at The University of Melbourne node of the Australian Research Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW). 

Her research interests are in the areas of criminal law and justice system, domestic and family violence law, legal theory, family law, common law including indigenous research methodologies. Prior to joining the PhD in Law program, she was a practicing lawyer, Solicitor and Barrister for more than 16 years. She was admitted as Barrister and Solicitor in the Roll of Practitioners with the High Court of Fiji in 2006 and in the Roll of Practitioners with the Nauru Supreme Court in 2012.
