Amy Young

Associate Investigator

Dr Amy Young is an Associate Investigator with the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW).

Dr Amy Young is a Research Fellow of the Disrupting Violence Beacon, Griffith University and Lead of the KONEKSI Research Collaboration on Forced Labour and Climate Change: Keeping a focus on women and children in Indonesia. She has a passion for promoting children’s rights, participation and protection, and addressing domestic and family violence. She has strong stakeholder management and program execution skills, and has worked as a research assistant on diverse projects. These have included projects focused on domestic and family violence, child protection, violence against children in Afghanistan, school-age care in Australia and child protection in Indonesia. Dr Young completed her PhD focusing upon child rights and child participation in Brunei Darussalam. Her recent work has included qualitative research with men who use violence, and women and child survivors of domestic violence. She also leads bystander-focused projects on responding to gender-based violence.
