Charlotte Hock

HDR Candidate

Charlotte (Charlie) Hock is a PhD candidate with the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW) at the University of Melbourne.

Charlie’s research examines innovative justice mechanisms to address gender-based violence, with a particular focus on restorative justice and intimate partner violence. Her broader work spans sexual harassment in workplace and university contexts, judicial threats and the links between courts and gender-based violence, and advocacy aimed at preventing child sexual abuse. She has research experience in both academic and parliamentary settings, and her work is grounded in anti-carceral, feminist legal studies and socio-legal methodologies.
Charlie holds a Master of Human Rights and a Bachelor of Arts (Gender Studies) from the University of Sydney, and a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Psychology from Curtin University
