Dhanie Nugroho is a PhD Candidate with the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW) at Curtin University.

Dhanie Nugroho is a PhD Candidate in Economics at Curtin University and an economist specialising in impact evaluation, poverty, and development economics. His research focuses on intimate partner violence in Indonesia, particularly the evaluation of government programs addressing gender-based violence. His PhD thesis, Essays on Intimate Partner Violence in Indonesia, examines how the design, targeting, and assessment of public policies and social assistance programs influence the prevalence, reporting, and prevention of gender-based violence, generating evidence to strengthen policy effectiveness. He has held senior roles at Indonesia’s National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) and at the World Bank Indonesia, contributing to large-scale social assistance design, poverty-targeting systems, and fiscal policy analysis. His work draws on microdata and rigorous quantitative methods to inform evidence-based policymaking.
