Josephine Clarke is a Research Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW) at The University of Melbourne.

Josephine is a sociologist and in recent years her work has focused on domestic and family violence (DFV) issues. She previously worked at Flinders University as a Research Fellow on the ‘Religion and domestic violence: Exploring men’s perpetration’ ARC Linkage research project in partnership with the Lutheran Church of Australia. This research focused on how religion informs understandings and experiences of DFV including male perpetration, and how religion and faith-based organisations can support prevention, response and recovery.
