Louise Olsson

Partner Investigator

Dr Louise Olsson (she/her/hers) is a Partner Investigator with the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW).

Dr. Louise Olsson is a Research Director and Coordinator of the Gender Research Group at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO). Her research focuses on the gendered dynamics of war, the effects of conflict resolution and peacebuilding on women’s rights, and gender mainstreaming of organizational processes and practices. She got her PhD from Uppsala University on the topic of gender equality dynamics and the UN peace operations Timor-Leste but began her career already in 1999 by contributing to the UN project Mainstreaming a Gender Perspective in Multidimensional Peace Operations. Olsson has extensive experience in policy dialogue, societal impact, and training of leaders and practitioners. For example, she has been Senior Advisor at the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA), and has acted as a coach to the Supreme Commander and to the Chief of Joint Operations at the Swedish Armed Forces.
